On August 3rd, 2023, the Canadian Department of Innovation, Science and Economic Development (ISED) updated the version of RSS-247 to issue3, expanding the available frequency of LE-LAN equipment to 5850-5895MHz. The new regulations came into effect on August 3, 2023. In order to ensure the smooth transition between the new version and the old version, ISED has set a transition period of six months. During the transition period, RSS-247, issue2 or issue3 can be used for authentication. After the transition period, only RSS-247 issue3 is accepted, and after the transition period, the equipment manufactured, imported, distributed, leased, sold or sold in Canada must conform to RSS-247 issue3. RSS-247 issue3 mainly updates: (1) Add clarification statement: Section 6.2 "The EIRP of useless emission of testing products should use the PEAK value, unless another measurement method is specified in the corresponding section of the equipment working frequency range;" (2) Add section 6.2.5: introduce the requirements for equipment working at 5850-5895MHz, including equipment across 5850MHz channels (such as 5725-5895MHz).
